Spring Cleaning Tips

We’ve got your common (and not so common) tips for spring cleaning your Gemcraft Home!

Declutter

Start off simple! Dive into your deep spring cleaning by grabbing a basket or trash bag for any unwanted or lingering items lying around the house.

Fresh Sponges

No need to buy new sponges. Give your most durable sponge a wash and rinse before you toss it in the microwave for 60 seconds. It’ll come out fresh and ready to tackle your next load of dirty dishes!

Lemon Fresh

Slice up a lemon and toss it into a cup of water and heat until the water starts to boil in your microwave.  Once the water starts boiling, turn off the microwave and let it sit for a few minutes, filling the inside with steam.  Remove the hot water and wipe down your microwave for a clean sparkly finish.

Purifying Plants

Beat those spring allergies with a few air purifying house plants. Some house plants are known to naturally collect pollen and purify air into your living space. Lady palms and bamboo are known air cleaners.

Baseboard Wipe Down

This cleaning hack is perfect for keeping those baseboards dust free! Instead of throwing your dryer sheets away, use them to wipe the dust away from your baseboards. The effects of the dryer sheet will be apparent as they stay dust free for the rest of the season.

The Versatility of Vinegar

This dual purpose condiment is a must have for your spring cleaning supplies! Freshen up your washing machine by running a cycle with bleach, and then a cycle with white vinegar. Get rid of scum in the bathtub with a solution of vinegar, water, and lemon juice. Revive your blinds by soaking them in a mixture of water, bleach, and wait for it…….vinegar!
