How to Prepare
Rest the day before the race and get as much sleep as possible.
On race day, eat a healthy breakfast a few hours before the run.
Don’t test out new gear on race day. Run the race in the same shoes and clothing you’ve been training in.
Dress like it’s warmer outside than it really is because once you get moving, your body will warm up.
Get there early so you have plenty of time to park, check in, use the restroom and do some light warming up and stretching.
Once the run begins, start slowly. Starting fast will only cause you to burn out early and increase your race time. Start slow, and then build up your pace as you progress.
Have fun! It’s normal to be nervous before a race, but just remember that Turkey Trots are all about raising money for a good cause.
